About the Network Copy Function

In addition to the Print Service certification system currently in use, certification of Scan Service and Storage Service started on October 19, 2006. With this addition, BMLinkS project expect that devices supporting scan service will be released from member companies, and the Network Copy function used together with Scan Service and Print Service is now available. In other words, a printer can be selected from a list of printers discovered by a scanning device and data scanned from document can now be printed directly using the selected printer.

However, because the Network Copy Function is a new function introduced from Specification Set 2007, it is not supported by devices providing print service compliant with Specification Environment BMLinkS 2005 or earlier. For this reason, in discovery of devices providing print service from a device providing scan service, only devices providing print service compliant with Specification Environment BMLinkS 2007 are discovered and can be selected.

Devices providing Print Service that supports the Network Copy Function are grouped as "Specification Set BMLinkS 2007" in the list of certified devices provided on the BMLinkS website.
