Information on support of "Windows XP Service Pack 2 Security Reinforcement Features"

  1.  "Windows Security Alert" dialog box
In an environment where Service Pack 2 is installed on Windows XP, when you install or use the BMLinkS driver, the "Windows Security Alert" dialog box (figure 1a or figure 1b) may appear. If this happens, select "Unblock". Once the program is unblocked, this warning message will not appear in the future. If you do not select "Unblock", printing may not be possible in some cases.

This operation changes the Windows Firewall settings, and may increase the security risks.

  2.  Warning from Internet Explorer

While you are searching BMLinkS printers, if the "When you send information from the Internet, it might be possible for others to see that information. Do you want to continue?" message appears, click "Yes". Also, if you select the "In the future, do not show this message" check box before clicking "Yes", this dialog box will not appear in the future.
