Mission
The mission of the JBMIA is to support the total development of the business machine and information system industries in order to contribute to the development of the Japanese economy and the improved efficiency of office work through the promotion and the rationalization of production, trade, distribution and utilization of business machines and information systems.
Activities
The JBMIA engages in a wide range of activities related to the business machine and information system industries, including;
Investigation, research and dissemination of information
Promotion of efficiency
Planning and promotion of standardization
Promotion for international relationship and cooperation
Promotion of activities related to the environment, safety and quality control
Public relations
Other activities required to achieve the purposes of the Association
Establishment
Feb. 17, 1960	:	Establishment of the Japan Business Machine Makers Association
Nov. 1, 1966	:	Establishment as an incorporated body
Apr. 1, 2002	:	Name was changed to Japan Business Machine and Information System Industries Association
Number of Membership	:	37 companies[Regular Members], 37 companies[Group Companies of Regular Members], 22 companies[Associate Members] (September, 2008)
