Japanese Special event " Card with the support request "  transforms equipment, being easier-to-use.

To IEC Members
JBMIA (Japan Business Machine and Information System Industries Association) would like to invite TC/SC members for our demonstration experiment, "transforms equipment being it easy-to-use" as the Japanese special event, in IEC Tokyo meeting will be held in TOKYO INTERNATIONAL FOURUM on 4 -14 November 2014.
We think our demonstration experiment is one of solutions for establishing to suitable man-machine interface.
We would like to ask to inform your members to participate to the demonstration experiment as a monitor by circulating the attached our papers.
We will be waiting for you in the business center for you.
As first, we would like to introduce about JBMIA. JBMIA is the industry organization which aims to contribute the development of the Japanese economy and the improvement of the office environment through the comprehensive development of the Japanese business machine and information system industries and rationalization thereof. The advancement of information technology has brought about sophistication of the age of digitalization and networking and resulted in significant changes in the office environment accordingly. In response to the shift of business emphasis from the hardware to total business solutions including products, JBMIA carries out active committee/group activities regarding important issues that the industries are confronting in and outside Japan by conducting investigations and researches regarding the policy proposals, international cooperation, prevention of warming, environment preservation, standardization, product safety, etc., by deepening the association with the sales and software-related companies, as well as the manufacturers.

1. Activity for standards
JBMIA as a domestic review body for international standards of ISO and IEC activity conducts activities such as participations in international meetings and proposals of the international standards generated in Japan.

1). Japanese committees for IEC TC 108
JBMIA provides the international standards (IEC) with proposals related to the safety of IT devices, audio/video products and related electronic device-parts and coordinate the consistency of technical standards for electrical applications.

2). Japanese committees for ISO/IEC JTC 1.
JBMIA prepares and proposes several of ISO/IEC JTC 1 international standards, and deliberate the international standards. (Handling fields: Business machine, card and individual identification, and users' interface related to information devices.)
The contents of demonstration experiment (detail, see attached)

1). ETA. (ISO/IEC12905, Integrated circuit cards — Enhanced Terminal Accessibility using cardholder preference interface)
Automatic setting of the individual’s exclusive use accessibility feature by cards with personalized special needs information. It can switch man-machine interface of terminals to make friendlier.

2). TIM (ISO/IEC 7811-9, Identification cards — Tactile Identifier Mark)
Personalized dots on card can help aged and/or visually disabled persons tactually identify each card they have.
